energy assessments
A commercial EPC lasts for ten years. All residential and commercial property when constructed or offered for sale or rent requires an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
An EPC calculates the energy performance of a building using an A to G grading system, similar to the energy grades provided with a fridge or washing machine. The energy performance of a building is also shown as a carbon dioxide based index.
Recommendations will me made on improvements that could be made to increase the efficiency of the property. In the domestic version, estimates of energy bills are also included.
It is mandatory that sellers and landlords supply an EPC when the property is initially marketed.
